Mr. Cole’s years of space industry experience span across companies such as MDA and Neptec Design Group and include extensive experience in vision processing, motion control and rover autonomy. Mr. Cole was the lead developer for user interfaces on three rover programs with the CSA. He previously worked with Defence Research and Development Canada to develop satellite acquisition planning software and the Canadian Forces on terrain trafficability assessment and visualization. He also developed real time SLAM algorithm using sparse 3D LIDAR data deployed on industrial vehicles in harsh environments. Mr. Cole received a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from Queen’s and a Master’s from UBC where he developed molecular actuators for bio-medical and industrial applications.
